Respite care can be a lifesaver for family caregivers and their loved ones.

Most of the time, this type of home care involves short-term or temporary visits from a caregiver. With these visits, family caregivers can take a break from their unpaid caregiving tasks without lowering the quality of care their loved ones get.

What does Respite Care consist of?

One-on-one care:

This sort of care is more than just keeping an eye on your child or special loved one. Dr. Joy is able to help provide them with new tools to help improve the ways that they might handle certain situations of external stimuli, as well as help build a new relationship with someone outside of their immediate family. This can help create a more harmonious home environment when your child, special loved one, and you have a workable approach to alleviate difficult situations.

Long Term Respite Care:

If you are looking to take an extended vacation, or you would simply like to have more support during the weeks, Dr. Bird is able to help figure out a way that will provide you with the support you need at home while you are able to decompress and relax. Our long-term care may be provided for a few days up to one-week maximum. If you need long-term care for a special loved one, reach out to discuss details.

The Everyday Things:

On top of being able to be someone who can keep an eye on your child while you’re away, Dr. Bird will also be able to help with the small, every-day things as well such as:

  • Making sure they take any medications on time
  • Providing healthy meals
  • Light house-keeping when needed*
  • Laundry as needed*
  • Helping your child or special loved one with dressing, grooming, bathing, etc.

*Please note we are in your home to provide skilled nursing care for your special loved one (medicines, training, etc.) and are not a housekeeping service. Our cleaning & laundry is limited to what is needed to clean up after the special loved one we are caring for.
